Black Fractions (Mehta, 2021)

Mehta will present his current work-in-progress Black Fractions at the Global Trumpets Festival. In this work he explores the effects of racism: of social divisions and human reductions and how parts of the society are isolated from the whole as well as a note of hopefulness in which the recognition of our mutual human condition (reciprocals) leads to a sense of shared identity. Mehta is creating a structure for the group improvisations using his visual approach through graphical drawings and integrating text that resonate with his thoughts and experiences with racism.
